Enver Gürsev
My work reflects my experience of human memory, both experienced and assumed. Paying close attention to objects and artefacts that we obtain or collect, imbued with a power, to evoke past experiences and allow one to subconsciously re-live a given moment.
There is a great emphasis on palimpsest to layer my work ; Marks and gestures past and present emphasising the persistent presence of time in our lives.
I believe these are the keys to our very being. I also explore the realms of possible immortality, suggestive of the fact that something exists to bridge the living world with the dream world, in which we spend a great deal of our time and yet is always a great mystery.
