Tabitha Lewis is a local conceptual artist who while completing her MA in Fine Art conceived, created and directed the art project ‘Pull Up a Chair’. Tabitha was inspired to use a socially engaged arts approach to increase and widen local participation with the council’s consultations on the plans for regeneration. She collected discarded chairs from around Catford and invited people to join her in decorating them while having a conversation about Catford. The resulting chairs being representations of those conversations. As part of the Arts Trail Tabitha will be exhibiting the chairs that were created along with narrative that shares the conversations that were had. Why not pay her a visit and continue the Catford conversation.
