Bread and Roses Ceramics
I started playing with clay in 2020, during the first lockdown, as a remedy to all the screen time expected as a leader in a secondary school. Clay allowed me a tactile, creative break. As soon as was feasible, I enrolled in local classes followed by membership at a studio where I still make my wares.
I create a range of functional and decorative ceramics from stoneware clay, mostly thrown on the Potters wheel. I enjoy the versatility and flexibility of clay as a medium and the myriad of different decorating techniques clay allows - from small decorative jewellery, to larger vases.
My work tends to be eclectic as I learn more and more about clay, but I enjoy fluid lines. I draw inspiration from nature, my culture heritage and my everyday experiences.
